ABOUT THE COLLECTION
1904. Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. The birth of one of the first ever wristwatches sealed the bonds of friendship between these two pioneers. The rounded angles of the dial, seamless curve of the horns, and the exposed screws made for an iconic watch that would inspire countless reinterpretations.

Santos-Dumont micro-rotor skeleton watch, large model, 31 mm, automatic mechanical movement, 9629 MC. 18K rose gold (750/1000) case, polished blued-steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal and case back, bridges covered in burgundy lacquer Burgundy leather strap and brown alligator leather strap, 18K rose gold (750/1000) ardillon buckle. Movement dimensions: 23.2 mm, movement thickness: 4.4 mm, balance: 25,200 vibrations/hour, power reserve approx. 46 hours. Case dimensions: 31 mm, thickness: 8 mm. Water-resistant up to 3 bar (approx. 30 meters/100 feet).
